Gong Cave, East Java

Gong Cave, East Java
Gong Cave is located in the village of Bomo, sub Punung, Pacitan district, about 30 km from the city center Pacitan. You can go to the city of Yogyakarta through Wonosari Gunungkidul, Solo, and Ponorogo in East Java. The easiest way is to use the vehicle of Solo because despite having relatively smooth path through the winding roads up and down the typical mountain. This path can be taken approximately 3 hours by car. Destination Pacitan is not less interesting.
Pacitan himself famous as the city of a thousand caves because of the many caves in this area. This is not surprising because it is crossed by the limestone mountains which stretches from the area Kebumen in Central Java, continues to Gunungkidul , district keep going east until Pacitan, then Ponorogo, Trenggalek, Malang, to end up in Jember. Characteristic of limestone mountains are the underground caves formed by the flow of water which dissolves the rock around him, in addition to the barren surface and only certain trees such as teak.
Gong Cave is called Gong Cave because it seems like a gong sound is often heard from the cave. Gong itself is a Javanese gamelan instruments are beaten and serves as pemungkas tone. After arriving at the entrance gate of the tourist areas, you still have to walk 100m before reaching the entrance of the cave. Once inside the cave, you will be immediately amazed by the beautiful stalactite and stalagmite inside. You do not have to worry about the dark and slippery cave because the cave has been constructed incorporating stairs and walkways, security fencing, and lighting. But of course you still have to be careful and be polite in this cave. The view inside the cave will hypnotize your mind because of the beautiful curves of rock carvings in the cave like a masterpiece of high artistic merit. Colorful light bulbs add to the charm of the interior of this cave. No wonder if the cave is regarded as the most beautiful caves in Southeast Asia.
In addition, this cave has several rooms. The first room is a form of Spring Angel small and cold water. Angel is a space next to supposedly beautiful woman often seen shadows. In the third and fourth space rock crystal and marble are very beautiful. Space is the fifth largest room. Here the music concert ever held four countries to promote this cave to the international world. The room was a hermitage sixth. Seventh or last space is the Stone space Gong. Here is the rock when struck sound like the sound of a gong.
